Project Name: Peppler Park Improvements
Owner: City of Rockford, Michigan
Date Completed: 2006
Construction Cost: $500,000.00
Contact: Michael Young, City Manager

The project, locally funded, included the permitting for 210 feet of sheet pile and floodplain fill along beautiful Peppler Park adjacent to the Rogue River and Dam. The sheet pile wall was installed to replace a deteriorating concrete wall and to facilitate the proposed park improvements. The park improvements included new accessible routes from the park to the rivers edge where fishing can be enjoyed by all. This park is very active during the salmon and steelhead runs that occur during the spring and fall. The parks landscaping was very sparse and was overhauled to make Peppler Park a welcoming site to any visitor.
Paradigm Design provided surveying, design and development of permit/construction drawings. Paradigm worked closely with the City of Rockford’s landscaper to develop the permit drawings from the concept plans that had been previously established. The design challenge for this project included obtaining the MDEQ permit for work and fill within the Rogue River’s floodplain.

Paradigm Design provided the City and its staff with limited Construction Engineering Services which included staking and consultation on an as needed basis.
