Paradigm Design had the privelege of working with Chief Dave Peterson on the development of a new facility that serves as the Department Headquarters.  After an extensive property search, the Township selected the site of an existing auto service station as having the best location for response time and the opportunity to meet all other program needs.

The challenge for the project was to partially demolish and renovate the existing building to create a separate Training Center that could serve a dual purpose as a community Policing Station and Township voting precinct.  Secondly, the larger task was to design a new station to fit the growing full time staff and relocate the Department's administrative offices onto the narrow sloping site.

The resulting two-story design provides a modern edifice with state-of-the-art technology, while incorporating echoes of historic station details.  A dynamic curved front entry leads visitors and guests to the upper level offices and conference room.  The station's heart is the four-bay apparatus room that is fronted by the lower level dayroom, sleeping quarters, and lockers, which are conducive to a mixed-gender staff.

This station was featured in the November 2004 issue of Fire Chief magazine as a recipient of the "Featured Station" award.
