The primary challenge of the site was working with the dramatic slope of the land. The site drops 14 feet in elevation from the upper corner entry on the west end of the building to the lower east entry of the building.

The building was designed with the primary public entry located on the mid-floor level, and facing the primary street corner. The lower level can be accessed either by internal stairs and elevator routes, or by the on site service parking lot.

Architecture - Civil

The lower floor is used primarily by child day care, shipping, receiving, and storage. The day care facility benefits from its first-floor location by having the ability to access the exterior yard space which will eventurally be converted into a playground.
