Millennium Park is a unique project, reclaiming over 1,500 acres of industrial land to publicly owned green space and providing recreational facilities near the center of the most urbanized area in Kent County.  The park incorporates land in the cities of Grand Rapids, Walker, Grandville, and Wyoming, and extends for three miles along the Grand River.  Once completed, the park will be nearly two and a half times larger than New York City's Central Park, making it one of the nation's largest urban parks.  Development of the park is expected to take 10 years total.

Paradigm Design has had the exciting opportunity to be part of the Millennium Park project.  In Phase I of the project, the firm provided comprehensive professional services for the design and construction of the 5,900 square foot Beach House Pavilion (top) that includes concessions, toilet facilities, showers, and changing areas; two (2) 2,800 square foot open picnic shelters (center); and an 800 square foot men's and women's toilet facility (bottom).  Paradigm Design also designed a boating center for the rental of boats and canoes; a maintenance/storage building for the park's operation functions; and an accessory building for the water spray ground.
